- Schedule the reversion path before the first cut. If the new control doesn't work on day three, can you mount the old one back? This is the insurance no one wants to pay for—until they need it. We put the original control on a shelf, label every cable, and keep the old software disks in a labeled drawer. If we need to go back, we can do it in under eight hours.
- Treat documentation as a deliverable, not a thank-you. You need the electrical schematic, ladder or logic documentation, parameter list, backup files, and maintenance contacts. Under ISO 9001, controlled conditions for production include documented procedures. That logic also applies to machine handover. In custom CNC plastic machining, a machine failure in the middle of a run is expensive. That documentation is your overnight solution.
